I joined the Department of Electrical Engineering of Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT M) as an assistant professor in October 2017. Before that I was a postdoctoral research associate at the Coordinated Science Laboratory of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I obtained Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2015 from The University of Texas at Austin , Master of Engineering in Telecommunication from Electrical Communication Engineering department of Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in 2008, and Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from Jadavpur University, Kolkata (India) in 2006. I worked as a member of technical staff at Alcatel-Lucent Bell Labs, India from 2008 to 2011.
Research Interest
My research interest lies in theoretical studies of dynamics, optimal designs, and operations of stochastic networks. I have worked on dynamics and inference in social networks, fundamental limits and optimal operations of crowdsourcing systems, resource allocation and dynamics in communication and computer networks, and fundamental limits and resource allocation in nanoscale circuits. These apparently diverse domains share common issues: network, stochasticity, and resource and information constraints. My approach to these problems involves understanding the domains of application and their particular challenges, and then developing domain specific approaches by adapting, combining, and enriching techniques from my analytical toolbox.
