Polystyrene supported Rh(I) AA′ (AA′ = anthranilic acid, 2,2′-bipyridine or 1,10-phenanthroline) complexes catalyse the hydrogenation of monoolefins (terminal, cyclic and internal) and dienes. Ethyl sorbate undergoes saturation via the monoene intermediate. This cis olefin reacts faster than the trans isomer.
