Abstract
Assuming the possibility of all steps to be significant to start with, a procedure is developed in which statistical, thermodynamic and kinetic criteria are used to eliminate the unlikely steps gradually. The method is applied to three gas phase catalytic reactions and the resulting models are compared with the single-step rate equations proposed earlier in the literature. © 1982.
