Tomographic schlieren system for visualisation of supersonic jet
Published in American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Inc, AIAA
2016
Abstract
In this study implementation of background oriented schlieren technique is explained in detail. Structured background pattern, camera and lamp are used to derive quantitative visualisation of supersonic jet. Images are captured around jet with different projection angle. Deriving three dimensional field with help of 2d images is main task of tomography. Inverse Fourier algorithm is used here to project the object (Jet). Different filters are used to improve the resolution of reconstructed image. Density values are validated with theoretical calculation and schlieren image showed good qualitative agreement with results. © 2016, American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Inc, AIAA .
