We derive the equation of motion and appropriate boundary conditions necessary to analyze the frequency response of magnetoelastic resonance sensors. The impedance of a solenoid with a sensor in its core is derived and an equivalent circuit model is presented. The derived empirical model serves to both predict and analyze the behavior of magnetoelastic sensors and hence can be used to design practical sensing systems.
