For real square matrices F,G of the same size with F≤G, consider the matrix interval [F,G]:={X:F≤X≤G}, where the order is defined element wise. It is well known that F and G are invertible M-matrices if, and only if, any matrix in [F,G] is an invertible M-matrix. Among other things, an analogue of this result to invertible H-matrices is obtained. Further, certain sufficient conditions guaranteeing that any matrix in [F,G] is an inverse M-matrix, are also presented. © 2019 Elsevier Inc.
