In this paper, we consider a specific case of movement disorders, i.e., resting tremors and attempt to formulate a simple mathematical description of these tremors. A novel aspect of the paper is that it is a first attempt at using standard tools from systems theory, such as state space and Lyapunov stability analysis, to model resting tremors. We formulate tremor control as a disturbance rejection problem, and derive conditions under which disturbance rejection is achievable. © Springer India 2015.
