I am currently a Professor in the Department of Management Studies at IIT Madras, where I teach Financial Management and Electives in Corporate Finance. My research work primarily focuses on Venture Capital, Start-ups, Infrastructure Finance, and Public Private Partnerships. For 10 years, from 2009 - 18, I have had the opportunity to lead the publishing of the annual India Venture Capital & Private Equity Report. In February 2020, I conceptualized the setting up of Innovation, Venturing, and Entrepreneurship in India (IVEIN) Network, a unique partnership between leading institutions, IIT Madras, IIT Bombay, IIM Calcutta, IIM Bangalore and IIM Kozhikode.
Recently, I founded YNOS Venture Engine (www.ynos.in), a business intelligence and analytics platform for early stage start-ups and investors. I am also an associate at the Mossavar Center for Business and Government, Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard University. In the past, I have been fortunate to be a recipient of the Chevening Gurukul Fellowship at the London School of Economics, Endeavour Executive Award at the Macquarie Graduate School of Management, and the Fulbright Nehru Senior Research Fellowship at the Harvard Kennedy School. I have also been chosen for the Young Faculty Recognition Award of IIT Madras, Young Faculty Award of the Association of Indian Management Schools, P. K. Das Memorial Best Faculty Award, Outstanding Young Management Teacher Award of the Association of Indian Management Scholars’ International, Dewang Mehta Award for Best Teacher in Financial Management, Young Management Researcher Award of the Association of Indian Management Scholars’ International, and Dr. Harisingh Gour Award for Teaching Excellence in Management.
