Abstract
Web search has become an integral part of Internet activity. As Internet is a gigantic information repository, desired information is at one hop distance with search engine. Desktop based Internet activity has become quite common, ranging from a typical email to complex program execution using some browser or other GUI based tools. Interestingly, advances in wireless and mobile technologies are enabling end users to be part of the Internet even on run. Short Messaging Services and Interactive City Maps have already become quite popular with mobile devices. But in view of limited resources, tapping full Internet services is still an open challenge. In this paper we give "Iconized Concept Tree (ICT)" framework for web search. It makes query presentation and result navigation simpler and pleasant. ICT is demonstrated in two applications viz. fanning (farmassistant) and primary health (health-assistant). © 2005 IEEE.
