Human placenta is a viable source of many useful products. Some of the products obtained are of use in health care industry. This review article deals with cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, blood products and hormone like substances obtained from human placenta. Various methods of their extraction, purification, characterization and their method of preparation have been discussed in detail.
