Abstract
Epoxy ?-alumina nanocomposites are prepared with different weight percentage (wt%) to understand its electrical and mechanical properties. surface potential decay rate of the material and the trap depth shows inverse correlation. Increase in dielectric constant and loss tangent is observed on addition of ?-alumina to the epoxy resfn. Addition of ?-alumina nanoparticles shows reduced space charge accumulation. DMA studies indicate that the ?-alumina epoxy nanocomposites have enhanced storage modulus, glass transition temperature, and activation energy. © 2020 Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan.
