Abstract
The transient response of a cantilever beam is investigated for the stresses and displacements. The study is carried out for short and long duration impulse loads. The effects of impulse duration, damping and location of application of load are studied. The deflection and the stress histories and corresponding frequency responses are presented for various parameters. © 1995 Academic Press Ltd.
