In the present work, we report the synthesis of inorganic-organic hybrid material of molecular formula ((C4H9)4N)2[H3(Fe(C5H5)2)2PW11O39] 7H2O abbreviated as TBAFcPW11. This hybrid material has large surface area (142 m2 g−1) and shows photocatalytic activity due to the synergistic effect of photoexcitation property of polyoxometalate cluster and Fe2+/Fe3+ redox pair. It is a floating hybrid photocatalytic material capable of remediating organic pollutants, rhodamine B and p-nitrophenol. Optimum conditions for photocatalytic degradation and extent of mineralization have been established by varying the reaction conditions and mineralization studies. © 2019 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
