Abstract
Selective oxidation catalyst surfaces are dynamic in nature and are capable of, on interaction with gas phase reactants, reconstructing/forming two-dimensional surface faces or tolerating oxygen vacancies and restructuring the reduced active sites into selective ones by localized sharing. These aspects have been reviewed for single, binary and multicomponent oxides for selective oxidation.
