Abstract
Optical fiber is the principal backhaul medium which is helping developing countries reduce access cost and thus, the total per line cost of the telecom and Internet network. Fiber to the home may be too expensive, bit fiber backhaul which brings connectivity near to the street corner is key to the new network being set up in a country like India.
