Abstract
The various comments on 'a patent for generation of electrolytic hydrogen by a cost-effective and cheaper route' in order to generate a healthy discussion on experimental observation are discussed. Efficiency of fuel cells can be hypothetically greater than unity if the change in entropy for the fuel process is positive. Electrical and mechanical forms of energy are concentrated high-quality energy and heat energy is of poor quality and hence loss due to dissipation in the form of entropy. In any case the energy consumed during the electrolysis is related to the applied voltage only.
