WO3 nanorods prepared by direct pyrolysis of ammonium salt of decatungstate were found to be good support for Pt, for methanol oxidation. The WO3 nanorod supported Pt catalysts showed enhanced activity for methanol oxidation as well as increased stability compared to the conventional Pt on carbon system.
