Mixed oxide Ce02-Ti02 has been employed in the coupled semiconductor configuration for photocatalytic decomposition of methylene blue. This coupling has enabled decomposition with visible light while with pure Ti02 only UV radiation can effect this decomposition. Synergy between the two oxides and the importance of adsorption in photocatalytic decomposition of MB are demonstrated.
