Abstract
Optimal volumes in a cascade of ideal or non-ideal mixing stages closely approximate to arithmetic or geometric progressions. The progression parameters are evaluated for reaction orders of 0.5, 1 and 2 and the optimal policy under micro-mixing and macro-mixing conditions is discussed. © 1975.
