Optimal Active Length for Microwave Applicator with a Compact Choke: Surface Current Analysis

Abstract
In this paper, a compact, quarter-wave coaxial choke design for targeted heat delivery for intracavitary hyperthermia is presented. Antenna performance was evaluated numerically and compared in terms of SAR and power reflection characteristics for varying active antenna lengths and choke position on the outer conductor, and the results were experimentally validated in liquid phantom. © 2020 IEEE.
