The present paper proposes a new method for the computation of Wigner-Ville distribution. Unlike the conventional methods that use either a transform or a convolution operation for analytic signal evaluation, the proposed method computes the analytic signal directly from the input signal. As a result, the proposed method is highly suitable for a systolic array implementation than the existing methods. Systolic arrays with extensive pipelining have been developed for analytic signal evaluation and are used for the design of a systolic arrays for Wigner-Ville distribution. The proposed arrays, we believe, would be highly promising for modern real-time signal processing.
