Abstract
We report on the demonatration of the utilization of white light emitting diode (LED) in a prism based spectral Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) instrument. Urea is a major contaminant in drinking water. High concentrations of urea are harmful to living beings. We have developed a SPR sensor in Kretschmann configuration with BK7 prism coupled with gold coated BK7 substrate as the sensing element for the detection of urea in drinking water. The sensitivity of the sensor is found to be 5.76 × 10 -4 RIU. © 2019 Author(s).
