This paper presents the microstructure, texture and mechanical properties of a 70% unidirectionally hot rolled metastable β-titanium alloy Ti-5Al-3.5Mo-7.2V-3Cr. The alloy displays two-phase microstructure consisting of fine α phase within the β matrix. The presence of the α phase within β matrix retards the recrystallization kinetics. Texture of the β phase displays both the deformation and recrystallization texture components.Tensile properties along three specimen directions exhibit the mechanical properties anisotropy. The strength parameters and elongation are maximum along transverse and rolling directions, respectively. The yield locus plot obtained by Knoop hardness method also displays the presence of moderate anisotropy. © 2017 Elsevier Ltd.
