A change of the reaction rate was observed for the lipasecatalysed hydrolysis of ricebran oil in a batch stirred tank reactor using immobilized lipase enzyme as compared to free enzyme. The reactor rate was observed to be controlled mainly by factors like temperature, pH, initial enzyme concentration, initial substrate concentration and initial products concentration. © 1993 Springer-Verlag.

The kinetics of enzymatic hydrolysis of rice bran oil in organic solvent (n-hexane) by free and immobilized Candida lipolytica lipase were investigated in a batch reactor. The n-hexane does not alter pH and temperature optima, but an increase in n-hexane concentration decreases the enzyme activity. The kinetic model proposed to describe the inhibitory effect of solvents on lipolysis was found to fit our data well. © 1994.

Kinetics of enzymatic hydrolysis of rice bran oil in organic system

The immobilization of lipase from Candida lipolytica on alumina by adsorption for the hydrolysis of ricebran oil is described. Some of the factors which influence the activity of immobilizate and the stability of immobilizate are discussed. About 69% of the initially added enzyme activity is found in the biocatalyst when immobilized at pH 7.2. The stability of the immobilized enzyme to different pH and temperature conditions has also been studied. © 1993 Springer-Verlag.
