ESR of Tl2+ ions in alkali nitrates

Abstract
ESR spectra of paramagnetic thallium centers in γ-irradiated powders of thallium doped alkali nitrates are studied at 77 K. Tl2+ centers are formed due to γ-irradiation at 77 K. Principal g- and A-values are calculated. In RbNO3, two chemically inequivalent sites are observed at 77 K. The s- and p-character of Tl2+ have been calculated.
