The study of the effects of partial substitution of transition elements in zirconium-based alloys and the hydrogen storage properties, were carried out. The alloys were prepared by arc melting the constituent pure elements under argon atmosphere of 0.5 bar. Hydrogen studies were performed in the ranges 0.0001≤ P(bar)≤ 30 and 30≤ T(°C)≤ 100 using a high and low pressure hydrogen absorption/desorption unit based on pressure reduction method. The analysis indicated the crystallization of alloy in C14 hexagonal structure as confirmed from the powder x-ray diffraction studies, taken with Fe K α radiation at room temperature.
