Abstract
The effect of fibre orientation on the frequencies of thin, rhombic, orthotropic plates has been studied using a parallelogrammic, orthotropic plate finite element for various boundary conditions and skew angles. The results indicate that, for a given skew angle and boundary conditions, the fibre orientation of such plates can be chosen to achieve the desired natural frequency. © 1988.
