This paper deals with a dynamometer for measuring cutting forces in internal broaching. Typical records of axial and radial components of broaching forces are given. The variation of cutting force with broaching speed has been studied. An empirical equation for calculating specific cutting pressure is given. © 1983 Taylor and Francis Ltd.
