Abstract
Knowledge of the order of magnitudes of different components of in-vehicle travel time is valuable for arriving at practical measures to improve the operation of bus transit. Based on field observations, basic data on in-vehicle travel time components, unit ticketing time, and rates of acceleration and deceleration of city buses are presented. Useful for bus transit planners and operators, these data could be essential for computer simulation studies on bus transit performance.
