Abstract
The criteria air pollutants (NO, NO2, SO2, PM10 monitored at Manali industrial area during 2011 were characterized. The total SOx, NOx, and SPM load in the Manali industrial area were 22.8, 7.88, and 7.11 ton/day. The average SO2 and PM10 concentrations in winter were 31.13 and 24.87% higher than in summer. NO concentrations were high during the early mornings due to the presence of stagnant atmospheric condition. NO2 concentrations showed two peaks corresponding to the morning and the evening peak hour traffic flows.
