Abstract
Polystyrene and carboxylic acid-terminated polystyrene were synthesized by anionic polymerization of styrene. Adsorption experiments from cyclohexane at 36°C indicated that both the carboxylic acid-terminated polystyrene and the proton terminated polystyrene adsorb to silver surface. Adsorbance as a function of concentration, molecular weight, and solvent conditions as determined by liquid scintillation counting of the tritium labelled polymers is discussed at the meeting.
